The Historical use of LVADs

Statement on behalf of the Harefield Transplant Club Committee.

We are aware of the BBC News 10 o’clock report on 12 Nov 2025, concerning the historical use of LVADs at Harefield Hospital. (LVAD or left ventricular assist device is a medical device sometimes used by pre-transplant heart patients.)

As a community, we understand that this coverage may affect our members in different and personal ways. Please know that your wellbeing remains our priority. While we have no further information about these issues, we have been informed that the hospital is conducting its own internal review on this matter.
